Greek Style Turkey Meatballs

Ingredients:

  • 500g turkey thigh mince

  • 2 tablespoons fine maize (cornmeal) flour

  • 2 spring onions, finely chopped

  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, finely chopped

  • 1 large egg

  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • ½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (for cooking)

Method:

Preheat the oven to 190°C (375°F). In a large mixing bowl, combine the turkey thigh mince, cornmeal flour, chopped spring onions, parsley, egg, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently until all ingredients are evenly incorporated. Overmixing can make the meatballs tough, so combine just until mixed.

With dampened hands, form the mixture into meatballs approximately the size of a ping pong ball.

Place the meatballs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or lightly greased. Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until cooked through and golden brown, turning halfway to ensure even browning. Enjoy!
