What is Pilates?

 

Pilates is a highly effective form of exercise that helps connect the mind and body. Pilates is a full-body movement method that can set you up for better functionality, daily movement and improved wellbeing.

Originally called “Contrology,” Joseph Pilates created this method in the early 20th century; the exercises coordinate movement and breath together to work the whole body. The principles of alignment, breathing and centring as well as precise and flowing movements are taught within each class.
